ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú Special Considerations
If your research involves human subjects, animals, biohazards, drone usage, or may result in intellectual property, OSP may require proof of application to the appropriate committee before your proposal can be submitted to the funding agency. Funding agencies may also have specific requirements in the Request for Proposal (RFP).
If your proposal is awarded, a formal approval letter must be received and forwarded to OSP before any project work begins
Projects involving human subjects (e.g. surveys, interviews, medical studies) require IRB approval to ensure ethical standards and participant protections.
Projects or research involving animal subjects require prior IACUC approval prior to proposal submission. Animal use cannot begin until the approval letter is received.
Research and projects that include biological hazards, such as infectious agents or recombinant DNA, require prior approval before research can begin.
If your project involves creating inventions, software, materials, or scholarly works, you must follow ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State's Intellectual Property Policy. Disclosure is required for all sponsored projects.
If your project involves drone usage, you must follow ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State’s official drone policy. All drone-related activities require prior approval.
